Priming the water supply
system
Yourrefrigerator’swatersupplysystemincludes
severaltubinglines,anadvancedwaterlter,
adistributionvalvebank,andareservetankto
ensureamplesupplytotheiceandwaterdispenser
atalltimes.Thissystemneedstobecompletely
lledwithwaterwhenrstconnectedtoanexternal
supplyline.
To prime the water supply system:
1 Beginllingthetankbypressingandholding
adrinkingglassagainstthewaterdispenser
paddle.
2 Keeptheglassinthispositionuntilwater
comesoutofthedispenser.It may take
about 1½ minutes.
3 Continuedispensingwaterforaboutthree
minutestoushthesystemandplumbing
connectionsofanyimpurities(stoppingto
emptytheglassasnecessary).
Ice maker operation & care
Theicemaker,icebin,anddispenserfeeding
mechanismarelocatedinthetopofthefreezer
compartment.Aftertherefrigeratorisinstalled
properlyandhascooledforseveralhours,the
icemakercanproduceicewithin24hours.Itcan
completelyllanicebininabouttwodays.
Theicemakerproducesfourtosixpoundsofice
every24hoursdependingonusageconditions.Ice
isproducedatarateofeightcubesevery75to90
minutes.
Using the ice maker after installation
Beforemakingiceforthersttime,besureto
primethewatersupplysystem.Airinnewplumbing
linescanresultintwoorthreeemptyicemaker
cycles.Furthermore,ifthesystemisnotushed,
thersticecubesmaybediscoloredorhavean
oddavor.
Turning the ice maker on and off
Iceproductioniscontrolledbytheicemaker’sOn/
Offpowerswitch.Togainaccesstotheicemaker,
pulltheextrashelfout(somemodels).Pressthe
switchtothe“O”positiontoturnitOffandpressto
the“I”positiontoturnitOn.
CAUTION
For proper dispenser operation,
recommended water supply pressure
should fall between 30 psi and 100 psi.
Excessive pressure may cause water filter to
malfunction.
NOTE
Thewaterdispenserhasabuilt-indevicethat
shutsoffthewaterowafterthreeminutesof
continuoususe.Toresetthisshutoffdevice,
simplyreleasethedispenserpaddle.
IMPORTANT
Theicemakeristurnedonatthefactorysoitcan
workassoonasyouinstallyourrefrigerator.If
youcannotconnectawatersupply,turntheice
maker’sOn/OffswitchtoOff.Otherwise,theice
maker’sllvalvemaybenoisywhenitattemptsto
operatewithoutwater.
NOTE
Theicemakeralsohasabuilt-inwiresignalarm,
whichautomaticallystopsiceproductionwhen
theicebinisfull.Thissignalarmshouldnotbe
usedtomanuallystoptheicemaker.
