Evaporator Fan & Motor
Assembly
Thefanandmotorassemblyislocatedbehindthe
freezercompartmentairductdirectlyabovethe
evaporatorinthefreezercompartment.
Thefanisa12VDCsuctiontype,pullingairup
throughtheevaporatorandblowingitthroughthe
refrigeratorcompartmentfangrille.Thefanwill
changefromhightolowspeedwhenthefreezer
doorisopened.
Oncurrentproductionmodels,thefanbladeisnot
adjustableandisdesignedtobepressedontothe
motorshaftuntilitbottomsoutagainstthestopat
thefrontofthefanblade.
To Remove Evaporator Fan Motor
1. Disconnectrefrigeratorfromelectricalsupply.
2. Removefreezersectionbottomshelvesand
baskets.
3. Removefourscrewsfromevaporatorcover
andremovecover.
4. Remove2bottomscrewsonevaporatorair
ductcover.Thiswillallowyoutopickcover
uptogainaccesstofanassembly.
5. Disconnectconnector.Evaporatorfanmotor
assemblycannowbepulledfree.
6. Removebackbracketholdingfanmotorby
pushinginandreleasingtabs.
7. Removefanbladeandslingerwasher.
8. Pullevaporatorfanmotorfree.
9. Removerubberbushingsfromeachendof
motorandtransfertothenewmotor.
10. Reverseproceduretocompleterepairs.

Toreducethepossibilityofcondensationforming
ontheexteriorofthecabinetinhighhumidity
areas,unitsareequippedwithaonepiece
perimeterandmullionhottubewhichispartof
therefrigerationsystem.Noelectricheatersare

NOTE
TheSlingerwasheronthefanmotorshaftmust
beadjustedtowithin1/16”to1/8”frommotorto
preventwaterfromenteringmotorbearing.
NOTE
Whenreplacingthefanblade,presstheblade
ontothemotorshaftuntilthebladebottomsout
ontheshaft.
