Important
Toadjustvolumeow,youmustsetthemeterfactorforvolumeow.Settingameterfactorformassow
andameterfactorfordensitywillnotproducethedesiredresult.Thevolumeowcalculationsarebased
onoriginalmassowanddensityvalues,beforethecorrespondingmeterfactorshavebeenapplied.
Ifyouplantocalculatethemeterfactorforvolumeow,beawarethatvalidatingvolumeintheeld
maybeexpensive,andtheproceduremaybehazardousforsomeprocessuids.Therefore,because
volumeisinverselyproportionaltodensity,analternativetodirectmeasurementistocalculatethemeter
factorforvolumeowfromthemeterfactorfordensity.SeeSection9.2.1forinstructionsonthismethod.
Obtainareferencedevice(externalmeasurementdevice)fortheappropriateprocessvariable.

a.Usetheowmetertotakeasamplemeasurement.
b.Measurethesamesampleusingthereferencedevice.
