2.3 Remedies for Service Call Error
The following tables explains the Service Call error messages and remedies.
Code Error Name Cause Check Item Remedy
1101 Ink Tubes life error
The Ink Tubes have reached the end of their service
life. (CR scan pass counter has reached a
predetermined limit.)

Replace the Ink Tubes (Page 132) and reset the
counter (Page 221).
1125 CR HP detection error
The CR UNIT cannot set the home position.
 False detection of the home due to foreign material
 Misreading of the CR SCALE
 CR Lock is damaged.
1. Is there any foreign material inside the printer?
2. Does the CR SCALE have any scratches or dirt?
3. Does the CR ENCODER SENSOR work properly?
Check it using the Service Program.
4. Does the CR Lock function normally?
1. Re-install the CR ENCODER SENSOR. If it is
faulty, replace it (CR UNIT). (Page 138)
2. Clean the CR SCALE using ethanol.
3. Replace the CR SCALE. (Page 123)
4. Replace the CR Lock (PUMP CAP ASSY). (Page
143)

CR Motor
overcurrent error
1. Connection failure of the CR MOTOR ASSY or
the CR ENCODER SENSOR.
2. The number of occurrences of overcurrent to the
CR MOTOR ASSY has reached a predetermined
limit.
 Irregular load
 CR ENCODER SENSOR failure
 CR MOTOR ASSY failure
1. Is there any problem such as disconnection or a
damaged cable in the connections below?
 CR ENCODER SENSOR to CR SUB BOARD
 CR MOTOR ASSY to SUB-B BOARD
2. Does the CR ENCODER SENSOR work properly?
Check it using the Service Program.
3. Is there any foreign material on the CR UNIT drive
path?
1. Replace the CR ENCODER SENSOR (CR
UNIT). (Page 138)
2. Replace the CR MOTOR ASSY. (Page 125)

overload error
Overcurrent to the CR MOTOR ASSY was detected.
 CR ENCODER SENSOR cable is damaged.
 CR MOTOR ASSY cable is damaged.
 Irregular load
 CR ENCODER SENSOR failure
 CR MOTOR ASSY failure
1. Is the CR UNIT being attached correctly?
2. Is there any foreign material on the CR UNIT drive
path?
3. Is there any problem such as disconnection or a
damaged cable in the connections below?
 CR ENCODER SENSOR to CR SUB BOARD
 CR MOTOR ASSY to SUB-B BOARD
4. Does the CR ENCODER SENSOR work properly?
Check it using the Service Program.
1. Re-install the CR UNIT. (Page 138)

over speed error
The CR MOTOR ASSY was driven at a speed faster
than a predetermined one during deceleration.
 Irregular load
 CR ENCODER SENSOR failure
 SUB-B BOARD is damaged.
 CR MOTOR ASSY driver failure
1. Are there any contamination or scratches on the CR
SCALE?
2. Does the CR ENCODER SENSOR work properly?
Check it using the Service Program.
1. Replace the CR ENCODER SENSOR (CR

2. Replace the SUB-B BOARD. (Page 98)
3. Replace the MAIN BOARD. (Page 95)
