TROUBLE SHOOTING Remedies for Service Call Error 44

USB memory access
error
Abnormality of memory access. Occurs during
reading/writing data at the following operations.
 At power-on
 When inserting/removing a USB flash drive
 When saving data
 When printing data
 When displaying thumbnails
Check if the error recurs.
1. Restart the printer.
2. Replace the USB flash drive with another one.

Print driving finish wait
timeout error
 Occurs when CR UNIT cannot detect the print
start position.
 Contamination or scratches on CR SCALE
 Contamination or damage of CR ENCODER
 Contamination on CR shaft
 Too much load for the CR UNIT operation
1. Check if there is any foreign material inside the
printer.
2. Check if CR SCALE is scratched or contaminated.
3. Check the reading status of CR ENCODER using
Service Program.
4. Check if there is any foreign material in the driving
path of CR UNIT.
5. Check if grease on OIL PAD of CR UNIT has dried
out.
1. Remove the foreign material.
2. Clean CR SCALE with ethanol.
3. Replace CR SCALE if damaged. (Page 123)
4. Replace the CR ENCODER (CR UNIT). (Page
138)
5. Lubricate the OIL PAD. (Page 293)

Interlock switch
communication error
Communication failure due to broken cables.
1. Various Service Call Errors are displayed in turn
inconsistently. (e.g.: 1138 => 1411 => 1418 =>
150C, etc.)
2. Is the cable of the INTERLOCK SWITCH broken?
Replace the INTERLOCK SWITCH. (Page 90,
page 91, page 92)
