ACN Reporting
About ACN
Architecture for Control Networks (ACN) is a control protocol developed by the Entertainment Services
and Technology Association (ESTA) to advance entertainment control into the ethernet and
networking age. Just as DMX512 brought a standardized control protocol to lighting in the 1990’s,
ACN is a standard for networked lighting control in the 21st Century.
ACN allows lighting control devices (such as control consoles) to communicate with and receive status
reporting from lighting output devices (such as dimmers) over an ethernet network, even between
different manufacturers’ equipment. Net3 is ETC’s ACN-compliant networking protocol.
ACN Net3 Reporting
As of v3.0.0 Sensor+ CEM+ now supports status reporting over Net3. CEM+ supports informational
messaging of system, rack and dimmer status. Any ACN compatible device can request information
about the Sensor+ dimming system for the following details:
About Dimmer
The following information is available for each dimmer:
• dimmer number
•name
• level
• “winning” data source
• priority of winning data source
• recorded at full load
• current load
• error notifications
About Rack
The following information is available for each rack:
• rack number
•name
• version of software
• ambient temp
• phase voltages (A, B, and C)
• power frequency
• hours of use before air filters require cleaning
• on 230V tracking systems, an indication shall be available for active processor
About Group
The following information is available for each group:
•group name
•group number
• panic (status only)
• rack errors
