If you open the ADF during a scan, the LED indicator lights up as follows.
Lights up (orange) ADF open
HINT
Also, note that operations on the operator panel are disabled while the ADF is open.
Confirm that the ADF is closed properly.
To check whether or not it is closed completely, open the ADF and then close it again.
For more details about opening and closing the ADF, refer to Opening/Closing the ADF (page 32).
Optical Error
If an optical error occurs in the ADF, the LED indicator lights up as follows.
Flashes (orange) 2 times Optical error (ADF Front)
Flashes (orange) 3 times Optical error (ADF Back)
Take the following measures.
● Refer to Cleaning the Inside of the Scanner (ADF) with a Cloth (page 89) and clean the glass.
● Turn the scanner off then back on.
If the problem persists, refer to The First Measures to Take When You Encounter any Errors or Troubles (page
140) and take measures accordingly. If the problem still persists, write down the status of the LED indicator and
contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Refer to the contact information in the Contact
List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact information in the Contact for Inquiries section if
provided in Safety Precautions supplied with this product, and then make an inquiry.
EEPROM Error
If an EEPROM error occurs, the LED indicator lights up as follows.
Flashes (orange) 4 times EEPROM error
Turn the scanner off then back on.
If the problem persists, refer to The First Measures to Take When You Encounter any Errors or Troubles (page
140) and take measures accordingly. If the problem still persists, write down the status of the LED indicator and
contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Refer to the contact information in the Contact
List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact information in the Contact for Inquiries section if
provided in Safety Precautions supplied with this product, and then make an inquiry.
Sensor Error
If a sensor error occurs, the LED indicator lights up as follows.
