Fan the documents a few times to remove static electricity.

● Is there a document remaining in the ADF?
Solution
Remove the document from the ADF.

● Are the pad unit and pick roller installed correctly?
Solution
Install the pad unit and pick roller correctly.
For details, refer to Replacing the Pad Unit (page 96) and Replacing the Pick Roller (page 99).
● Are the pad unit and pick roller clean?
Solution
Clean the pad unit and pick roller.
For details, refer to Cleaning the Inside of the Scanner (ADF) with a Cloth (page 89).
● Are the pad unit and pick roller worn out?
Solution
Start up the Software Operation Panel to check the counters for the pad unit and pick roller, and if
necessary, replace the pad unit and pick roller.

● Are you using the scanner at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher?
Solution
Enable [High Altitude Mode] in the Software Operation Panel.
For details, refer to Scanning at High Altitude [High Altitude Mode] (page 180).
If the scanner is being used on level ground lower than 2,000 m with [High Altitude Mode] enabled,
overlapped documents may not be detected.
