1 Pick roller (× 1) A roller which feeds documents on the ADF paper chute
(feeder) into the ADF.
2 Ultrasonic sensor (× 2) A sensor which detects overlapped documents by
ultrasonic soundwave.
It detects overlapped documents by monitoring the
difference in the amount of ultrasonic waves transmitted
through the documents.
3 Document sensor (× 4) A sensor which detects whether there is a document.
4 Eject roller (× 8) A roller which ejects documents from the ADF.
5 Feed roller (× 4) A roller which feeds documents through the ADF.
6 Glass (× 2) The surface which scans documents.
7 Document loading detector (× 1) It detects whether a document is loaded or not in the ADF
paper chute (feeder).
8 Pad unit (× 1) A part which separates overlapped documents before they
are fed into the ADF.
