ENGINE (J05E)/TROUBLESHOOTING 2–503
INSPECTION PROCEDURE: P0405 and P0406
1. Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position.
2. Connect the vehicle to HINO DX Ⅱ .
3. Set the starter key to the "ON" position.
4. Select [Engine] and check if any DTC other than (P0405 or P0406)
has been detected.
1. Check the connection of the EGR valve connector (looseness and
poor contact).

Check the DTC detected (Engine ECU)
Has any DTC other than (P0405 or P0406) been detected?
Go to diagnosis procedure of a related DTC. Go to step 2.

Inspect the EGR valve connector
Was any failure found?
Connect securely, repair if needed.
Perform "After-inspection work" of INFOR-
MATION section.
Go to step 3.
