5.3.1 Lifting a load from the side
Requirements
– Prepare the truck for operation, see page 138 or see page 139.
– Load unit correctly palletised.
– Fork spread for the pallet checked and adjusted if necessary, see page 193.
– Load unit weight does not exceed the truck's capacity.
– Forks evenly loaded for heavy loads.
– Good ground conditions.
Procedure
• Press the dead man's switch.
• Drive carefully up to the storage location.
• Lower/raise the load handler so that the load can be
lifted.
• Do not press the dead man's switch.
• Slowly insert the load handler into the pallet until the
fork face touches the load or the pallet.
Z
The load unit must not extend by more than 50 mm
beyond the fork tines.
• Press the dead man's switch.
• Raise the load handler slightly until the load rests freely
on the forks.
• Do not press the dead man's switch.
• Slowly retract the load handler to the home position,
see page 192.
• Press the dead man's switch.
• Make sure you have a clear view and sufficient area to
move in.
• The load can now be transported with the truck, see
page 202.
The load has been lifted correctly.
