15 COOLING SYSTEM 224
Condition
The engine is cold.
The radiator is completely full.

– Rest the motorcycle on its side stand on a horizontal surface.
– Check the coolant level in the compensating tank.
The coolant level must be between MIN and MAX.
» If there is no coolant in the compensating tank:
– Check the cooling system for leaks.

Do not start up the motorcycle!
– Add coolant/bleed the cooling system.
» If the coolant in the compensating tank is not at the required level, but the tank is
not empty:
– Check the cooling system for leaks.
– Fill the cooling system compensating tank. ( p. 224)
15.3 Filling cooling system compensating tank
Warning
Danger of scalding During motorcycle operation, the coolant gets very hot and is under pressure.
– Do not remove the radiator cap, radiator hoses or other cooling system components when the engine is hot. Allow the engine
and cooling system to cool down. In case of scalding, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.
