17.1 Checking the engine oil level
Condition
The engine is at operating temperature.
Preparatory work
– Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.

Main work
–
Remove oil dipstick

. Check the engine oil level in the measurement range.
Info
After switching off the engine, wait one minute before checking the level.
The engine oil level must be in the middle

of the dip stick measurement range.
» If the engine oil level is not at the specified level:
– Add engine oil. ( p. 236)
– Replace the oil dipstick.
17.2 Changing engine oil and filter, cleaning oil screen

– Drain the engine oil and clean the oil screens. ( p. 229)
– Remove the oil filter. ( p. 232)
– Install the oil filter. ( p. 234)
– Fill up with engine oil. ( p. 234)
