Procedure
Step 1. Prepare your server.
a. Remove the top cover. See “Remove the top cover” on page 225.
Step 2. Remove the fan cage.
a.
Rotate the release latches on the fan cage up to disengage it from the chassis.
b.
Hold the handles, and lift the fan cage out of the chassis.

After you finish
• Install a replacement unit. See “Install the fan cage” on page 144.
• If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
