7.2.6
Description of the memory functions
The memory is installed on the P3UP in order to guarantee stable results when monitoring the machining
process even when working on parts without smooth surfaces (e.g. parts with keyslots) or when it is not
possible to maintain the measurement head permanently in contact with the part (e.g. reciprocating internal
applications). Refer to the specific documentation for the P3UP in order to check the type of memory
installed in the unit, if present.

N.B.
in the case of the two "For planes" and "with stock removal estimate" memories, there are two
available operating modes: static and dynamic. In static mode (which should be used with the
piece stationary), the measurement is available on the analogue instrument without mechanical
and electrical zero setting the measurement head. In dynamic mode (which should be used with
the piece in movement) the memory performs certain processing operations on the measurement
(e.g. maximum, minimum, mean, etc.). The operation in dynamic mode is indicated with the DYN
LED lighting up.
7.2.6.1 Damping memory
This memory filters the measurement signal at the moment when the probes drop into the interrupted section
of the part surface.
Programming Menu
Select the signal damping level so that the measurement remains stable
when the part is rotating at the working speed. (see para. 7.3.3.1)
Operating mode
MANUAL
The memory is active.
AUTOMATIC
The memory is active.
Disable
To disable the memory, access the programming menu and set MEM DAMP
= NO (see para. 7.3.3.1)
I/O input
MEMORY CONTROL
It is possible to block the measurement from the I/O input. This may be
useful when it is necessary to interrupt the grinding cycle in order to dress
the grinding wheel.
ON:
The memory is locked and the P3UP does not perform the
measurement
OFF: The memory is active and the measurement is updated
Display on panel
The pointer must remain stable at the moment the probe drops into the
interrupted section. The POWER LED turns BLUE if the memory is blocked
via the I/O.
7.2.6.2 Programmable damping memory
This memory filters the measurement signal at the moment when the contacts drop into the interrupted
section of the part surface. The memory is activated only below a programmable threshold.
Settings
Program the DAMP TH threshold.
Programming Menu
Select the signal damping level so that the measurement remains stable
when the part is rotating at the working speed.
Operating mode
MANUAL
The memory is active.
AUTOMATIC
The memory is active.
Disable
To disable the memory, access the programming menu and set MEM
DAMP = NO
I/O input
MEMORY CONTROL
It is possible to block the measurement from the I/O input. This may be
useful when it is necessary to interrupt the grinding cycle in order to dress
the grinding wheel.
ON: the memory freezes the acquired measurement value
OFF: the memory is active and the measurement is updated
