6. The acceptable accuracy tolerance is +/- 3%.
NOTE:
1.
The measurement caliper should be positioned at the upper edge of the
target, not the middle nor the lower edge.
2.
The scanning plane should be vertical to the target line, that means the
scanning plane is parallel with the cross-section of the phantom
As shown in figure below.
Transverse geometric positioning accuracy
Test Steps:
1. Cover the scan surface of the phantom with water or ultrasound gel. Gently
contact the probe lense with the scan surface.Scan the phantom and position the
focus point to the transverse testing.
3. Adjust parameters like gain, dynamic range and TGC to minimize the background
noise and display the target image clearly. Measure the distance marks on the
transverse target line by using the measurement caliper
4. Calculate the accuracy by using the formula below
5. The acceptable accuracy tolerance is +/-3%.
NOTE:
1.
When using a linear probe, record the transverse distance by segment.
2.
When using a convex probe, all transverse targets should be displayed
integrally in the image.
3.
The measure caliper should be positioned at the upper side or lower side
in the center of the target.
As shown in figure below.
