12-6. 4th Mirror Movement
The 4th Mirror is moved to vary the conjugate distance for a particular zoom
ratio by driving the rack-and-pinion gears at the front and rear ends of the
copier using Mirror Motor M7 (stepping motor). The Levers of the Holder to
which the Mirror is mounted slides along a tilted rail to change the Mirror
angle. This ensures that the light strikes the surface of the PC Drum in the
direction of the normal, thereby preventing resolution from being degraded.
Mirror Reference Position Sensor PC81 is used to control the position of the
4th Mirror. It ensures that the Mirror is located at the home position when the
copier is turned ON.
