Troubleshooting
Emergency Brake Leg 1 Short Fault, EMERG BRK LEG 1 SHORT
Description: Emergency brake board (ICE RB or ICE EB) verification failed after stop or as result of fault
reset. Emergency brake circuitry verified by transition between leg 1 and leg 2. One must be active to pre-
vent emergency brake deploying.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop.
Troubleshooting:
1. Verify configured for emergency brake board (ICE-RG or ICE EB) and correct board installation.
Emergency Brake Leg 2 Short Fault, EMERG BRK LEG 2 SHORT. See above.
Emergency Brake OK open, EMERG BRAKE OK OPEN
Description: Emergency Brake OK input dropped (off) when configuration indicates brake installed, input
should be picked (on).
Car Reaction: Emergency stop if running. The car is not allowed to run until the problem is corrected.
Troubleshooting:
1. Verify Rope Gripper board is properly installed, connected, and powered.
2. If this job has a sheave brake, verify that associated circuitry is per job prints.
Emergency Brake OK open Off (See: Emergency Brake OK open)
Emergency Brake Tripped, EMERG BRAKE TRIPPED
Description: Emergency brake output (ICE RG or ICE-EB board) has gone low, setting emergency brake.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check that the output did not go low in error and is properly connected.
2. Check the elevator for underlying causes.
Emergency Brake UIM Reset Button Stuck, EM BK UIM RESET STUCK
Description: Reset button on Rope Gripper (ICE-RG) or Emergency Brake board (ICE-EB) activated for more
than 15 seconds.
Car Reaction: The car is not allowed to move. If in motion, the car is allowed to finish the run.
Troubleshooting: Check the reset button on the ICE-RG or ICE-EB board.
Emergency Dispatch On, Emergency Dispatch, EMERGENCY DISPATCH
Description: Car is automatically servicing building in pre-defined pattern. Invoked when a failure of hall call
bus or group communication detected. May also be activated using a key switch input.
Car Reaction: Car automatically moves to every floor in building in predefined pattern and cycles doors.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check group/car communications.
2. Check the hall call bus drivers.
3. Check the Emergency Dispatch input.
Emergency Dispatch Off (see Emergency Dispatch On)
Emergency Medical Service Bypassed
Description: EMS is active but has been bypassed by another mode of operation.
Car Reaction: EMS service is bypassed and the car operates under the new mode of operation.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check the current mode of operation and the EMS user settings.
Emergency Medical Service Deactivated
Description: EMS has been deactivated.
Car Reaction: Car is returned to prevailing mode of operation.
Troubleshooting: NA
