3.8.1DiscoveringaDevicewiththeUNC
Whenandwheretouse:
ThediscoveryprocessallowssitedevicestobemanagedbytheUniedNetworkCongurator(UNC).Oncethe
deviceisinstalled,conguredthroughtheCSS,andsecurityparametersareenabled,followthisprocedureto
discoverthedevice.Thecongurationinformationcanthenbeupdatedusingthiscongurationmanagement
application.
TheUNCnetworkmanagementsolutionconsistsoftwoapplications.BoththeUNCWizardandtheV oyenceControl
applicationsareusedinthisprocedure.
ThenamesEMCIonixNetworkCongurationManagerandV oyenceControlareusedinterchangeably
forthisproduct.
OncethedeviceisdiscoveredintheUNC,theOSimagesandCSScongurationlescanbeloadedtoaddadevice
toasite,whichthenconnectsthesitetothecurrentASTRO
®
25zonecore.
