TheMainDCoutputofthepowersupplyisusedtoprovidepowertothepoweramplierandthetransceiver.The
Auxiliaryoutputofthepowersupplyisnotusedwithinthebaseradio,butisreservedforuseasaredundantpower
inputtoothersitecomponentssuchasthesitecontroller.
2.1.4.2PowerSupplyBatteryCharger
Thepowersupplyincludesanintegratedbatterycharger.Thebatterychargeriscontrolledentirelythroughsoftware
residingontheassociateddevicemodule.Softwarecontainstheinformationonsupportedbatterytypesandobtains
user-specicinformationpertainingtotheparticularsite.Thedevicesoftwarereceivesbatterybusvoltageand
batterytemperatureinformationfromthepowersupplyandusesthesevariablesinconjunctionwithsupported
batterychargingprolestoreturnasignalwhichsetsthechargeroutputvoltageappropriately.Thebatterycharge
andtemperatureconditionsmaybeviewedthroughConguration/ServiceSoftware(CSS)andUniedNetwork
Congurator(UNC)orthroughalarmstoUniedEventManager(UEM).
