Duringinitialization,thebaseradiopowersupintothestandbystateandwaitsforastatuspacketfromthesite
controller.Afterinitialcontactwiththesitecontrollerhasbeenmade,thebaseradioentersidlemodeandsendsa
statusmessagebacktothesitecontrollerindicatingthatitisreadyforassignment.Thesitecontrollerresponds
withachannelgrantmessage,andthebaseradioenablesforservice.Ifthebaseradiohasagreaterhomechannel
preferencesettingthanotherbaseradiosatthesite,thenthezonecontrollerassignsthebaseradioasthehome
channelatthesite.
Afterabaseradiohasbeenassigned,itcanbegintohandleinbound/outboundtrafc.Inthecasewherethebase
radiofailstoreceiveanumberofconsecutivestatuspacketsfromthesitecontroller,thebaseradioentersisolated
modeanddekeys.ThisisolatedmodeisreportedintheUniedEventManager.
Ifthebaseradiobecomesoperationalagainandreceivesstatuspacketsfromthesitecontroller,itreplieswitha
channelstatusmessage.Thesitecontrollermaythenrespondwithachannelgrant,andthebaseradiobecomes
enabledforserviceagain.
7.3BaseRadioOperationalStatesforConventional
AGTR8000BaseRadiocanbeinoneoftwooperationalstates:
•Standby/Receiving
•Transmit
Duringinitialization,thebaseradiopowersupintothestandby/receivingstateandisenabledforservice.Thebase
radiolistensforanyreceivedtransmissions.
Afterthebaseradiohasreceivedatransmission,itcanthenkey-upandtransmit.
TheGPW8000Receiverdoesnottransmit.
7.3.1PacketDatainteractionswithMultipleNAC’s
IfabaseradiosupportsmultipleNAC’s,suchaswhenusingthecommunitybaseradiofeature(F7F/F7E),in
additiontoadefaultNAC,inbounddatacanbereceivedonanyincomingNACandisforwardedtoitsdestination.
OutbounddataisonlytransmittedtothedefaultNAC.OutbounddatacannotberoutedtoaselectedNAC,itis
alwayssentonthedefaultNAC.RepeateddataisonlytransmittedonthedefaultNACanddoesnotfollowthe
inboundNACwhencommunityrepeater(F7F)isbeingused.
7.3.2SupplementarySignalinginteractionswithMultiple
NAC’s
IfabaseradiosupportsmultipleNAC’s,suchaswhenusingthecommunitybaseradiofeature(F7F/F7E),in
additiontoadefaultNAC,inboundsupplementarysignalingcanbereceivedonanyincomingNACandis
forwardedtoitsdestination.OutboundsupplementarysignalingistransmittedoneitherthedefaultNACorthe
currentlyselectedNACifusingF7F/F7E,thesamethatvoicewouldbetransmitted.Outboundsupplementary
signalingcannotberoutedtoaselectedNAC,itisalwayssentusingeitherthedefaultNACorthesameNACthat
voicewouldbetransmittedonaccordingtoF7F/F7Efunctionality.
