Inadditiontostandardsealedlead-acidbatteries(valve-regulatedleadacidorgelcells),thepowersupplysupports
chargingofventedlead-acidandNiCdbatteries.
2.1.4.3BatteryTemperatureSensorCable
Theintegratedchargerinthepowersupplyperformstemperaturecompensatedbatterychargingwhenatemperature
sensorisconnected.Ifthesensorisdisconnected,thechargercontinuestooperateasanuncompensatedcharger
withthechargingprolefollowingtheminimumchargervoltagespeciedbythebatterymanufacturer.
Includedisa40footbatterytemperaturesensorcable,whichattachestoabatterypack,suppliedbyyour
organization,andtothebackplaneofthedevice.Thisthree-wirecablecarriesavoltagesignaltothepowersupply
fromthesensorelement,whichneedstobemountedincloseproximitytothestoragebattery.V oltageisproportional
tothebatterytemperatureandisusedbydiagnosticcircuitryinthepowersupplymodule.Thiscableisextendedto
