1Connectacomputer(eitherlaptopordesktop)toadevice:
a.ConnectanEthernetstraightthroughcablebetweentheEthernetportonthecomputerandtheappropriate
LANswitcheitherlocallyatasiteorremotelythroughthenetwork.
•Forabaseradio,theIPaddressofthelaptopmustbesettothe192.168.1.xsubnet(wherexisany
numberbetween2and253).ConguretheSpeed/DuplexsettingofthePC'sEthernetinterfaceto
10MbHalfDuplex.
•Forasitecontrollerorcomparator,theIPaddressofthelaptopmustbesettoanaddressonthe
subnetofthelocalsite,whichvariesdependingonthesiteandzonenumbers.
•Foracomparator,the10/100Base-TLANisnotthedefaultEthernetportsetting.Tosetthecorrect
portspeedandduplex,seetheCSSOnlineHelp.
