Cordsets
There are two types of cordset: M‐style or T‐style. M‐style cordsets have
100‐ohm platinum sensors and T‐style cordsets have 120‐ohm nickel
sensors. An M‐style adhesive cordset may has a square connector and an
M‐style air cordset has a round connector.
Depending on its size, an applicator may have one cordset or multiple
cordsets. In combination with the hoses and any splitter or extension cables
used, cordsets serve two purposes: (1) to supply electrical power to the
heaters and (2) to carry temperature‐sensing information from the sensors to
a melter control system or to a standalone temperature controller.
Figure2‐6 shows the connectors for the different cordset styles. For
information specific to the cordsets on your applicator, refer to Section11,
Electrical System.
