12 Cleaning, checks and maintenance
12.1 Cleaning
The font panel and the underside of the metal cover on the upper side of the safety laser
scanner need to be cleaned regularly. The frequency depends on the environmental condi-
tions.
INFORMATION
Reduced availability by improper cleaning agents
Improper cleaning agents can damage the front screen and lead to faulty
shutdowns.
– Use only the cleaning agents specified.
Contact Pilz and exchange the PSENschead [ 119] if the front panel is scratched.
Contamination Cleaning
Finger marks Dampen PSEN sc cloth with PSENsccleaner (see order
reference [ 135]) and clean the front panel in one go
without rubbing
Sticking particles Dampen PSEN sc cloth with PSENsccleaner (see order
reference [ 135]) and clean the front panel in one go
without rubbing
Loose, non-chafing particles
} Vacuum or gently blow away the particles without touch-
ing
} Remove particles using PSEN sc cloth in one go without
rubbing
Loose, chafing particles
1. Vacuum or gently blow away the particles without
touching
2. Remove particles using PSEN sc cloth in one go
without rubbing
Oil drops Dampen PSEN sc cloth with PSENsccleaner (see order
reference [ 135]) and clean the front panel in one go

Statically charged particles
1. Vacuum particles without touching
