5. Remove the ring gear shim. The ring gear side of the
shim should be free of nicks, burrs and scoring.
Inspect the shim for cracks.
6. Remove the roll cage assembly, rollers, and H-
springs.
7. Thoroughly clean all parts. Inspect rollers (A) for
nicks and scratches. Rollers must slide up and down
freely within roller cage surfaces (B). Inspect roller
cage and H-springs for nicks and cracks.
8. Inspect the ring gear (A) for consistent wear
patterns. The surfaces should be free of nicks and
scratches.
