Cold Weather Operation
Cold weather operation requires special vigilance in
regard to battery state of charge. Discharged batteries
freeze at a higher temperature than fully charged
batteries (see table for freeze points).

Also keep in mind the following:
• Battery (vehicle) range decreases as the ambient
temperature decreases.
• Maximum range will be attained at an ambient
temperature of 80°F (26.6°C) or higher. This is the
case for all lead-acid battery products. Cold ambient
temperatures can negatively affect the range by up to
30%.
