Installation, Start Up, and Registration
Power Connection
Ensure that the Viper Pro has been properly mounted and all component cabling has been connected before
connecting the chassis cable to power.
1. Route the red and white leads to the vehicle’s battery.
2. Connect red lead wire to the positive battery terminal.
3. Connect the white wire to ground.
CAUTION
The power leads should be connected after all
other installation instructions have been
completed. Reversing the power leads may
cause damage to the field computer.
CAUTION
Even when the Viper Pro is powered off, the
field computer will draw a small current from the
battery. If the machine will not be in use for an
extended period of time, remove power from
the Viper Pro by disconnecting the main
interface cable from the rear panel of the field
computer.
