SERVICE CENTER CALL RESPONSE PROBABLE CAUSE OPERATOR ACTION
SERVICE TECHNICIAN (ST) and/or
NATIONAL RECLAMATION CENTER
(NRC) ACTION
1-2 Check to see if paper printed on one side is
being used. Paper printed on one side has a
tendency to double-feed. If the double-
feeding
persists, replace with other paper.
Ink between sheets of used paper causes friction
and interferes with paper feed and transport.
Switch to other paper.
1-3 Do not use curled (less than 2 mm) or
wrinkled paper, especially when printing on
both sides of postcards. If the curl or wrinkling
cannot be removed before printing, replace
with new paper.
Curled or wrinkled paper jammed. Try to flatten curls, wrinkles, or replace paper.
1-4 Check the paper and if it is coated, make sure
it meets specifications for coated paper.
Replace with paper that is approved for use
with this printer.
Feed roller slippage.
Replace with approved paper, or switch to feeding
from Tray 1.
1-5
Curl can develop if paper remains unused and
loaded in the paper cassette for a long period.
Remove the curled or wrinkled paper.
Curled or wrinkled paper has jammed. Remove the curled or wrinkled paper.
(2) Disconnect the duplex unit and check the
reverse guide to make sure that reverse guide
is closed on both ends. If open, lock the
reverse guide on both ends.
Not closed after a jam was removed.
The difference in the pressure between the half-
locks of the reverse guide on the left and right side
(if both are not locked correctly) can cause the
paper to skew, preventing the paper from feeding.
Remove the duplex unit and make sure that the
reverse guide is locked on both sides.
(3) Check the rear cover of Tray 2. Make sure
the cover is closed and that the locks on both
sides are engaged.
Not closed after a jam was removed.
No force applied to the transport roller, so there
was insufficient power to feed the paper.
Close the rear cover of Tray 2.
(4) ST Descriptions

End fence is damaged. Replace the end fence (ST).
