Attributes represent the data which a device makes available via Ethernet/IP. This
data contains the current values of a configuration or an input, for example. Typi‐
cal attributes are, e.g., configuration or status information.
Service
Services are used to access classes or attributes of a class and to generate cer‐
tain events. These services perform specified actions, e.g., reading attributes.

10.3.3 Integration and configuration options
The MLG-2 can be integrated in Ethernet/IP in various ways and can be configured
independentl

Integration in Ethernet/IP
The MLG-2 can be integrated in Ethernet/IP:
As generic module:
You enter all module settings manually.
Using an EDS file:
The MLG-2 module settings have been predefined.
Configuration

ameters are configured offline, then written to the MLG-2 and activated when
switching to online mode.
The following options are available for configuring the MLG-2:
The configuration assembly
The controller tags in the controller organizer
SOPAS ET
Configuration options when integrating as a generic module
If you have integrated the MLG-2 as a generic module, then you can configure it depen‐
dent on the Connection Parameters entered.
If the configuration assembly is activated under Connection Parameters, you must
perform the configuration using the configuration assembly.
In addition, you can configure the parameters which are not contained in the con‐
figuration assembly using SOPAS ET.
If the configuration assembly is not activated under Connection Parameters, you can
use SOPAS ET to configure all parameters.
NOTE
If the c
onfiguration assembly is active, the parameters entered there overwrite those
which have been configured via SOPAS ET.
Configuration options when integrating using the EDS file
If you ha
ve integrated the MLG-2 using the EDS file, then you can configure it depen‐
dent on the selected instances of the I/O assemblies.
