External fault 
Description 
The "External Fault 1 to 6" function blocks can be used to monitor any statuses and/or 
external devices, to generate fault messages and, if necessary, to switch off the motor. To 
do this, the inputs (plugs) of the External Fault function blocks must be connected to any 
sockets (e.g. device inputs, communication bus control bits, etc.). External faults can also be 
"marked" in SIMOCODE pro. This facilitates their allocation to the actual malfunction. 
Example: monitoring the rotational speed of the motor using an external speed monitor. 
The "External Fault" function block consists of:  
●  two plugs (1 plug for setting, 1 plug for resetting) 
●  one "Event - external fault" socket. It is set if a signal is pending at the input. 
The following are available: 
●  four "External Faults 1 to 4" function blocks for the pro C and pro S basic units 
●  six "External faults 1 to 6" function blocks for the SIMOCODE pro V basic units
