4.11 Option installation
The following options can be installed on the SP70 sonar:
• 90° tilt
• Triple- or multiple-frequency
• Stabilization

Note that all options are pre-programmed into the standard
sonar version, and that Simrad offer a 1- month free test period for
each option. When ordering a permanent option installation, a
code word will be released from Simrad.
For a free test, or permanent option installation, use the following
procedure:
• Select the Setup index menu, and press the Test menu button
to activate the System Test index menu.
• Press the Installation Menu button, and the installation menu
bar will be activated on the to of the screen:

• Press Options on the menu bar, and select Install Options to
activate the submenu:

Options submenu
The following parameters are available:
• HWID shows the 12 character Hardware Identification code
which is peculiar for each sonar. Simrad use this HWID code
to generate the 32 characters code word used for a permanent
option installation.
• Try buttons for starting the 1-month free test period for the
three different options. Note that if any time or date
adjustments are made during the test period, the option will
be closed.
