Range
The Range button is located in the following index menus:
Horizontal
Ve rt ical
Echosounder
Second Ping
Trawl

Range submenu
Range is normally selected using the SP70 Operating Panel. The
available choices are: 150, 300, 450,600, 900, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500,
3500, 4500 and 6000 meters. In addition to the readout on the
range menu button, the horizontal range is normally displayed
over the tilt indicator located in the upper, left- hand corner of the
display.
The following options are available:
Manual - Enables manual range selection.
Auto - Enables automatic range selection in position- and
target tracking.
To create an optimal position- or target tracking programme,
automatic ranging may be selected by pressing the AUTO button.
To maintain a steady display during seine setting, the lower
automatic range is set to 450 meters. Changing the range or
pressing the MANUAL button will stop the auto-ranging
function.
The sonar is designed to work with various horizontal range units
such as meter, nautical mile, kilometres, US survey foot or yards.
This choice can be made by selecting the Units button in the
Display index menu.
