Notes on the correct driver’s seat
position
WARNING Risk of injury if vehicle
settings are adjusted while the ve-
hicle is in motion
You could lose control of the vehicle
particularly in the following situations:
If you adjust the driver's seat, steer-
ing wheel, head restraint or mirrors
while the vehicle is in motion.
If you fasten your seat belt while the
vehicle is in motion.
Before starting the vehicle, adjust
the driver's seat, head restraint,
steering wheel and mirrors and wear
the seat belt correctly.
When adjusting the driver's seat , the
steering wheel
and the seat belt ,
observe the following:
You are as far away from the driver's
airbag as possible.
Sit in an almost upright position with
the back against the seat backrest.
Sit with the legs slightly supported on
the seat cushion.
Your legs are not fully extended and
you can press the pedals properly.
The back of the head rests against the
centre of the head restraint and the
contact point is flush with the eyes.
You can reach the steering wheel with
your arms slightly bent.
You can move your legs freely.
All displays on the driver information
display and the head up display (if
equipped) can be clearly seen.
You can be fully aware of traffic
conditions.
When adjusting the seat position, do
not touch any moving parts to avoid in-
jury and/or damage.
Your seat belt is pulled snugly against
your body and is routed across the
centre of your shoulder and across your
hips in the pelvic area.
Electrically adjusting the front seats
