8. Troubleshooting
The following tables lists faults the InterfaceIIIk may experience. If the problem cannot be rectified, please
contact Technical Support.
Problem Possible cause and remedy
Changes to DIP switch settings are not
applied
InterfaceIIIk was still under voltage when the DIP switches were changed.
Remedy:
- Before changing the DIP switch settings, cut the power to the InterfaceIIIk by
pulling out the connector X1 from the InterfaceIIIk.
- Change the settings of the DIP switches.
- Re-insert connector X1.
InterfaceIIIk does not initialize in the
remote control bus
or
Indoor air conditioning unit not responding
to InterfaceIIIk commands
The InterfaceIIIk and wired remote control are both configured as master.
Remedy:
- Check the roles assigned in the X/Y remote control bus, see “4.3.3 Status of the
InterfaceIIIk (master/slave)“ on page 151.
- Configure the wired remote control as master and the InterfaceIIIk as slave.
- Check the DIP switch setting 21 on the InterfaceIIIk and correct if necessary.
Error message E1 (communication error) on
the InterfaceIIIk
or
Error message E1 (communication error) on
the wired remote control
The InterfaceIIIk and wired remote control are both configured as slave.
Remedy:
- Check the roles assigned in the X/Y remote control bus, see “4.3.3 Status of the
InterfaceIIIk (master/slave)“ on page 151.
- Configure the wired remote control as master and the InterfaceIIIk as slave.
- Check the DIP switch setting 21 on the InterfaceIIIk and correct if necessary.
Error message E1 (communication error) on
the wired remote control
InterfaceIIIk faulty.
Remedy:
- Switch off the entire system and secure so it cannot be switched back on.
- Unplug all connectors of the InterfaceIIIk, replace the InterfaceIIIk
and re-insert all connectors.
- Check the configuration of the InterfaceIIIk.
- Switch the system back on; reset errors on the wired remote control if necessary.
Air conditioning unit is cooling although
Heating mode has been selected
The outdoor air conditioning unit is in defrosting mode.
Remedy:


Programs 8 has recurrent problems with

Remedy:
- On series FDC71 to FDC250 outdoor air conditioning units, set DIP switch
SW43 on the outdoor air conditioning units to ON .

voltage > 1VDC, but transferred frequency
request remains at 0Hz
Open circuit at analog input

Remedy:
- Check cable and connection of analog inputX3S for open circuits.
- Replace cable if necessary.
