9.2 Maintenance intervals
Access to components
Maintenance work can be performed from the opened front
of the unit. In Downflow units, some maintenance tasks may
also be performed from the top of the air conditioning unit.
Heat exchanger
The heat exchanger consists of copper pipes with aluminum fins. In the event of refrigerant leakage, check the
heat exchanger first.
Moreover, the heat exchanger is exposed to contaminated air: particles are deposited in the fins, reducing
heat transfer and increasing air resistance. If this occurs, you will notice a higher fan operating current.
The heat exchanger can be cleaned with compressed air blown along the fins against the normal airflow
direction.

NOTICE
Take care not to bend fins while cleaning. Bent fins will increase the air resistance!
NOTICE
Aggressive cleaning agents and solvents can damage the heat exchanger (pitting)!
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents to clean the heat exchanger.
• Clean the heat exchanger with compressed air. Blow along the ns against the normal airow
direction.
• Alternatively, use a vacuum or steam cleaner.
