11. Dismantling and disposing of the EC
Tower
Have the air conditioning unit dismantled by qualified specialist personnel only.
1. Perform pump-down on the outdoor unit as described in the outdoor unit Technical Manual.
2. Switch off the EC Tower on the C7000AT controller.
3. Switch off the EC Tower via the master switch.
4. Switch off power supply cables to the unit. Secure so they cannot be switched back on.
5. Disconnect the EC Tower from the mains.
6. Disconnect unpressurized refrigerant pipes from the external system.
7. Dispose of the refrigerant in the EC Tower in accordance with local disposal and safety regulations.
8. Transport the EC Tower using lifting gear with sufficient load bearing capacity, as described in the “Trans-
port” section.
9. Dispose of the EC Tower in accordance with local disposal and safety regulations. We recommend using
a specialist recycling firm. The EC Tower contains the raw materials aluminum (heat exchanger), copper
(pipes, cables) and iron (paneling).
NOTE
Do not release refrigerant into the atmosphere. Dispose of it in accordance with local disposal
and safety regulations. Also dispose of the ester oil in the compressor. Since this contains dis-
solved refrigerant, do not dispose of it like other types of oil: return it to the oil manufacturer.
