Detected Condition Possible Cause
Signal voltage is not within the following range.
Difference between actual throttle opening and opening
calculated by ECM is larger than specified value.
0.35 V ≤ Sensor voltage < 4.90 V
NOTE
• If SDS is used, P1654-H is indicated when
sensor voltage is higher than specified
value.
• If SDS is used, P1654-L is indicated when
sensor voltage is lower than specified
value.
• STP sensor maladjusted
• STP sensor circuit open or short
• STP sensor malfunction
• ECM malfunction
NOTE
• When P1654-H is displayed, it is possible that
STP sensor circuit is shorted to Vcc or
ground circuit is open.
• When P1654-L is displayed, it is possible that
STP sensor circuit is open or shorted to
ground or Vcc circuit is open.
