CAUTION
!
When using the multi-circuit tester, do not strongly touch the terminal of the ECM coupler with a
needle pointed tester probe to prevent the terminal damage or terminal bend.
NOTE
• After repairing the trouble, clear the DTC using SDS tool. Refer to “Use of SDS Diagnosis Reset
Procedures (Page1A-15)”.
• Refer to “Use of SDS Diagnosis Reset Procedures (Page1A-15)”
Detected Condition Possible Cause
The speed sensor signal is not input to ECM for more
than 3 sec. during the engine is running at 5 000 r/min
or more.
NOTE
If SDS is used, P0500 is indicated.
• Speed sensor circuit open or short.
• Metal particles or foreign material being attached on the
speed sensor.
• Speed sensor malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
