1D-39 Engine Mechanical:
• Fit a new gasket (1).
CAUTION
!
Use a new gasket to prevent oil leakage.
• Install the cam chain tension adjuster (2).
Tightening torque
Cam chain tension adjuster mounting bolt (a): 10
N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 lb-ft)
• Remove the cam chain tension adjuster service cap
(3).
• Unhook the outer circlip “A” from its groove by
pushing in the stepped part (4) of the plunger head
with a (–) screwdriver.
• Rotate the crankshaft (some turns), and recheck the
valve timing.
CAUTION
!
Make sure that the adjuster works properly
by checking no slack at point “B”.
Tightening torque
Cam chain tension adjuster service cap: 23 N·m (
2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
