GEARSHIFTING 9-7
• Install the gearshift cam driven gear and pawl lifter.
• Apply THREAD LOCK SUPER to the screws E and tighten
them to the specified torque.
99000-32030: THREAD LOCK SUPER “1303”
or equivalent
 Pawl lifter screw: 8.5 N·m (0.85 kgf-m, 6.0 lbf-ft)
• Install the gearshift return spring F, snap ring G and washer
H onto the gearshift shaft I properly.

NOTE:
When installing the return spring, position the stopper D of
gearshift arm between the return spring ends E.
 09900-06107: Snap ring remover (Open type)
• Install the gearshift shaft assembly J.
NOTE:
Pinch the gearshift arm stopper F with return spring ends G.
• Install the clutch components parts and right crankcase cover.
(7-9, -10, 8-7)
• Align the matching mark H on the gearshift shaft head with
slit J of the gearshift lever K.
• Tighten the gearshift lever bolt L.
INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
• Engine oil level and oil leakage (2-12)
• Engine coolant level and coolant leakage (2-18, -19)
• Smooth operation of gearshift system
Replace the snap ring G with a new one.
