The ‘head gap’ is the distance from the tip of the needles to the Print Bar.
Ex-factory value with the Gap Lever set at 1 position is between 0.40~0.44 mm.
This mechanical adjustment requires thickness gauges instead of changing the
positions of the Gap Lever. This adjustment sets the datum/standard level. A

2.2.1 The value of Head Gap
The ‘head gap’ is the distance from the tip of the needles to the Print Bar. Ex-factory value
with the Gap Lever set at 1 position is between 0.40~0.44 mm.
1) When the value is too high, the print out is not clear and ribbon jam occurs.
2) When the value is too low, ribbon or paper jam occurs and sometimes it is not
possible to install the paper.
