ECOTEL 3G 16.1. Revised: 1 March 2011.
VoIP Gateway
The ECOTEL’s sophisticated routing algorithms
allow VoIP communication via SIP server and/
or gatekeeper (H.323), as well as multi-desti-
nation operation without a SIP Server or gate-
keeper. Various voice codecs ensure universal
connection to different VoIP destinations. Fax
transmission occurs via T.38 or fallback to
G.711a. Backup routes can be activated in
case of VoIP peer failure. After a defined
amount of time, the ECOTEL resumes its pri-
mary route.
Least Cost Router 2nd Generation
The ECOTEL’s sophisticated routing algorithms
serve as an LCR between your PBX and the
PSTN or VoIP carrier. Internet connection can
occur via integrated DSL router. The system re-
verts to ISDN if there is an IP connection fail-
ure.
Mobile NT
The ECOTELs are connected to the customer’s
PBX with up to four lines, and to the mobile
carrier’s network via UMTS. The mobile gate-
way can multiplex the available mobile chan-
nels, as well as directly connect subscribers.
