OVERVIEW
CHAPTER 3
22
ECOTEL 3G 16.1. Revised: 1 March 2011.
Corporate Scenario
The ECOTEL only receives mobile calls from the
customer’s PBX. Calls are terminated directly
in the mobile network. The sophisticated rout-
ing algorithms allow you to route calls to spe-
cific carriers if SIM cards from various carriers
are used.
Mobile Gateway with VoIP
The ECOTELs are set up in small or medium-
sized enterprises. The mobile gateway can
multiplex the available mobile channels for an
attached PBX and/or a Soft PBX. It can also
connect subscribers directly. The sophisticated
routing algorithms allow additional VoIP com-
munication via SIP and/or H.323. Various voice
codecs ensure universal connection to different
VoIP destinations. Fax transmission occurs via
T.38. The ECOTEL recognizes calls to the mo-
bile network and sends them through the mo-
bile gateway to the mobile network. All other
calls are terminated via the VoIP carrier.
Carrier Scenario
One or more mobile gateways are connected
to the carrier network via VoIP.The carrier net-
work routes mobile connections to the individ-
ual mobile gateways, which then terminate the
mobile calls.
