Checks and Adjustments
Turf Groomer Drive Belt Tension
Adjustment
See Figures 10-2 through 10-4.
NOTICE
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)

2. Remove hex head screws (5) and lock washers (6).
3. Remove hex head screw (7), lock washer (8), flat
washer (9), and clutch control knob (1).
4. Remove lock nuts (2), flat washers (3), and belt cover
(4).

NOTE
Do not over-tighten belt. Be sure idler pulley does not
contact small drive pulley.
5. Loosen screw (11) and turn eccentric nut (12) to
tighten drive belt (10).
6. Hold eccentric nut (12) with a 3/4-in. wrench and
tighten screw (11) to 20 lb-ft (27 N•m).

7. Install belt cover (15) using flat washers (13) and lock
nuts (14).
8. Install clutch control knob (21) using lock washers
(16) and hex head screws (17).
9. Install hex head screw (18) with lock washer (19) and
flat washer (20).
To prevent permanent damage to the belt, do not
over-tighten, twist, fold, or bend the belt.
Over-tightening the belt will cause premature belt
failure and abrasive wear of the pulley and
bearings. Twisting or bending the belt will
damage the belt cord fibers.
