Troubleshooting
Condition Probable Cause Remedy
Traction drive does not engage when OPC
bail is engaged.
Park brake engaged. Release park brake. (Refer to Operator’s
Manual.)
Clutch (OPC) cable not adjusted properly. Adjust clutch (OPC) cable. (See “Throttle
and Clutch Control Cable Adjustment”
on page 3-4.)
Faulty traction/reel clutch. Replace traction/reel drive clutch. (See
“Engine and Clutch” on page 3-7.)
Drive chains damaged. Repair/replace drive chain(s). (See “Drive
Chains” on page 5-9.)
Planetary gear set damaged. Repair/replace planetary gear set. (See
“Traction/Reel Drive Chain Case” on
page 5-13.)
Traction drum differential damaged. Repair/replace differential assembly. (See
“Differential Assembly” on page 5-27.)
Wheel hub damaged/roll pin missing. Repair/replace wheel hub(s). (See “Wheel
Hubs and Bearings” on page 9-3.)
Traction drive pulls to one side Traction drum differential damaged. Repair/replace differential assembly. (See
“Differential Assembly” on page 5-27.)
Wheel hub damaged/roll pin missing. Repair/replace wheel hub(s). (See “Wheel
Hubs and Bearings” on page 9-3.)
Park brake cable not adjusted properly/not
fully releasing.
Adjust park brake cable. (See “Park Brake

Traction drum bearing binding, worn or
damaged.
