5. Loosen throttle lever pivot nut (11) until throttle lever
(13) returns to idle by itself.
6. Route throttle cable (10) and sheath (8) through
cable clamp (15) and cable guide (14). Do not tighten
cable clamp screw (9) or cable guide set screw (12)
at this time.
7. Install rear half of handle cover. (See “Handle Cover”
on page 6-2.)
8. Install cable ties (7).
9. Perform throttle and clutch cable adjustment. (See
“Throttle and Clutch Control Cable Adjustment” on
page 3-4.)
Engine and Clutch
Removal
See Figures 3-10 through 3-21.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove throttle cover. (See “Throttle Cover” on
page 3-5.)
3. Remove air cleaner cover and air cleaner. (Refer to
engine manual.)

4. Remove collar (1) and spring (2) from clutch control
cable (5).
5. Loosen cable clamp screw (7) and remove clutch
control cable (5) from swivel nut (3) and cable guide
(4).
6. Loosen cable guide set screw (8) and remove throttle
cable (6).
