Traction Drive Drum Assembly
Removal
See Figures 5-65 through 5-68.
1. Park mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove drive chains. (See “Drive Chains” on
page 5-9.)

3. Remove the oil fill plug (1).

4. Rotate the planetary gear assembly (5) until the set
screw (3) aligns with oil filler hole (2).
5. Remove the outer (3) and inner (4) set screws.
6. Remove the planetary gear set assembly (5).
7. Remove the key (not shown) from the traction drum
shaft (6).

8. Remove bearing (7) from the traction drum shaft (8).
9. Remove the right frame. (See “Right Frame” on
