15. Check brake cable adjustment. Adjust as needed.

Handle and OPC Bail
Removal
See Figures 6-15 through 6-17.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)

2. Remove four nuts (1) and socket-head screws (2).

3. Rotate handle (3) up and disconnect throttle cable
(4). Remove handle (3).

4. Disconnect end of clutch cable (6) from OPC bail (7)
and remove OPC bail from tilt plate (5).
Installation
See Figures 6-18 through 6-20.

1. Apply a thin film of Lubriplate
®
grease to OPC bail
grooves (5) of tilt plate (1) and spring on OPC bail
(2).
2. Install end of clutch cable (3) into slot in OPC bail (4)
and install OPC bail into tilt plate (1). Make sure end
of spring (2) is flush against edge of opening (6) in tilt
plate.
