Chapter 10 RS232 Commands
The RS232 Commands allow a computer to control the instrument for data acquisition, or
troubleshooting. Use any standard terminal emulation program to issue a command. Settings are:
19200, N, 8, 1
Data commands
ABS
Report data in absorbance units. If the unit is on the walkup screen it will
change also
ABS x
Zero the system. The value of the sample at the current turret position is set to
x A (-0.1 <= x <= 2.5)
CONC
Reports data in Concentration units. If the unit is on the walkup screen it will
change also
CONC x
Set the concentration of the sample at the current turret position to x
concentration units (0 <= x <= 9999) by calculating a new factor for the given
sample
FACTOR
Report the current concentration factor
FACTOR x
Set the concentration factor to x (-9999.0 <= x <= 9999.0)
MODE
Report the current acquisition mode
A Absorbance
C Concentration
T % Transmittance
PRINT
Acquire a sample and print the datum
PRINT x
Print the string x on the printer
SAMPLE
Acquire a sample and report the datum
TRANS
Report data in % Transmittance (if the unit is on the walkup screen it will
change also)
TRANS x
Zero the system. The value of the sample at the current turret position is set to
x %T (0.1 <= x <= 125.0)
UNIT
Report the current units:
C
ppm
ppb
g/L
mg/L
mg/ML
µg/mL
M/L
mM/L
IU
xxxxxx (User defined units)
UNIT x
Set the current units string to x. x must be between 1 and 6 characters
Zero the system. The value of the sample at the current turret position is set to
0.000 A (100.0 %T)
ZERO
ZERO x
Zero the system. The value of the sample at the current turret position is set to
x A (-0.1 <= x <= 2.5)
